Since Hschooler.net is based on the authority of God, and under that umbrella the authority of parents over their family, an individual will be limited in what they can do until they become part of a family account. After upgrading to a family account, parents can authorize other members of their family to participate in some or all of the social aspects of Hschooler.net. A family account costs $5 a year (new members receive a one month free trial). This cost covers all of the members of a family. (Establishing a family account requires a credit card to ensure that it is an adult who is establishing the family structure.)
Hschooler.net makes it easy for family members to share their Hschooler.net activities with each other. Since Hschooler.net recognizes the authority of parents, parents have complete control over what their students can and cannot do, and also how visible their activities are. Parents can also enable or disable individual tools and widgets for each member of their family. In addition, parents can set how broadly a family member can choose to share visibility about what they are doing in Hschooler.net. Using these controls, a parent may choose to significantly constrain what a young student can do, while providing complete freedom to a more mature member of her family. Within the boundaries defined by parents, students still have a lot of flexibility in how they use Hschooler.net.
